The Entrance to Angkor Thom temple group is a couple of Kilometres directly north of Angkor Watt:
We were allowed to climb to the top of this ‘bigger than it looks in the photo’ temple, great fun!:
It was easy to go up to the top…
Us at the top. Apparently this is where the kings used to have ‘sexy times’ with their wife!:
Climbing up was easy, getting down was bloody scary! I thought Anna might cry. LOL.

For the next bit I thought I might cry:
I went for the tried and tested ‘on my ass’ technique:
Phew we both made it down safely!
The next temple had a sleeping Buddha on its side:
Next up was my favourite temple of them all ‘Bayon’…
I didn’t get the classic nose to nose shot quite 100%, still a good picture though!
I think these faces are fantastic! So full of character, there are 58 of them on the temple.
It is now approaching midday and we all decide to go back to the hotel for a bit, with a view to return later for another of the must see temples and a sunset over another! We have been up since 4am after all.
On the way home in the bus we spot some wild monkeys. So we pull over to take some photos.
After taking some photos of this one I turn around to see this!
Anna has a new friend!
And some nits it seems!
Anna’s new wild friend had to be carefully removed by our driver, as these monkeys can sometimes ‘be violent’!
What an amazing morning we have had. We make it back to hotel without any other major dramas and both take a little siesta to get our batteries recharged for the rest of the day.
